American Pies

There are few things more American than pie.

What’s great about America is that we are a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities. But we are also diverse in our dietary needs. Some of us need to eat gluten-free or dairy-free or avoid certain foods we have a hard time digesting. Others choose to reduce or avoid animal products. Some prefer sweet, others savory.

So what could be more American than sharing a variety of pies meeting different tastes and dietary needs? Good thing there’s an endless variety to choose from. Here’s a list from some of my favorite food and nutrition colleagues.
